Luc Jasmin III announces candidacy for Washington State Legislature, 3rd District

SPOKANE, Wash. — Luc Jasmin III has announced his candidacy for the Washington State Legislature, representing the 3rd District. The seat was recently vacated by Representative Tim Ormsby.

Jasmin brings four years of executive branch experience to the race. He currently serves as East Washington External Relations for Governor Bob Ferguson’s office and previously held the same role under former Governor Jay Inslee. His work has focused on bridging communication between state leadership and communities across Eastern Washington.

A first-generation Haitian American, Jasmin has built a career centered on early childhood education and small business development. He is co-founder of Jasmin Group and Parkview Early Learning Center. He also played a key role in establishing Northeast Youth and Family Services and the Washington Childcare Centers Association. Through these efforts, his organizations have created employment opportunities for Spokane-area residents and expanded access to early learning services.

Jasmin has an extensive record of community leadership. He previously served as Chair of the Spokane City Police Ombudsman Commission and as Second Vice President of the NAACP Spokane Branch, where he also chaired the Local Community Committee. He currently serves on the board of The Black Lens.

A father of two daughters enrolled in local public schools, Jasmin says his campaign is rooted in both personal experience and community commitment.

“I am running to ensure that the voices of East Washington are represented in Olympia,” Jasmin said. “Our communities deserve leadership that understands the challenges families face and is committed to creating real opportunities.”

His campaign will focus on expanding economic opportunity, supporting working families, strengthening community safety, and investing in public education.
