Black Poets Society: “R E V O L T”

By B. Lyte Black Poet’s Society

I’m not here to start wars

Nor start riots

I’m here to start a revolution

Put some gas on the fire

I am the igniter

I am the lighter

Here to lift my people higher

And my people are all people

We are all equal

We survive together

There’s power in numbers

Everything is energy

So don’t let negativity bring us under

There is a time to speak

There is a time to listen

Pay attention before attention pays you

You think you made this money

Nah it made you

G R E E D

The Land of Money

America is a ship sinking

America is on life support

Karma for stealing this land

We must atone

For all of this

Once was the Native People’s home

I am here to offer solutions

Don’t you know love is contagious

Need to spread it like an outbreak

Make America Love Not Hate

L O V E

Not down with the movement

Then keep it pushing

It’s always love

So keep on looking

We making moves

With

Or

Without you

I’m a revolutionary

What about you?
