Black Poet’s Society: “Searching For”

Lyfe ain’t easy

But it’s worth it

I promise

Searching for the answers

Need a camera

Just to take a picture of this moment

So I won’t forget

All my sin forgiven

All my demons hidden

Progress inconsistent

Funds insufficient

Take my pistol

Put it to my temple

Pull the trigger

I’m only wishing

I’m only wishing

I’m only human

God forgive me

Don’t have it in me

Own worse enemy

Enemies try and get at me

No bullets in the chamber

Fueled by this anger

Hoping for my rebirth

Because it hurts

Lyfe hurts

But that’s how it works

Working my nerves

Searching for a cure

I’m just searching for a cure

Searching for a cure

What to do

Do dreams come true

Or do we grow up

And revealed an ugly truth

Because I’m miserable

Each day getting more difficult

Decisions I make seem more pivotal

Had so much potential

Where’d it all go

Was aiming for the gold

But they sent me back home

So in bed I lay awake going mental

One night I slit my wrist

Ended in a hospital

On suicide watch

Because I’m trying to see

G O D

Right from birth

Everything seemed off

Anxiety never seems to stop

Know where I am

But I still seem lost

Do all the right things

But it still seems wrong

I’m too far gone

I can’t go on

What’s done is done

Don’t know what I’m running from

I’m so insecure

I wish I knew the cure
