You told me to leave the door open last night.
So I listened.
In doing so, I heard my pride tell me that I’m opening up my home to the world.
It continues as I turn the lock upright:
“Look at the man you have become. Don’t you remember the strife it took to get you in this house? The LIVES that were claimed by draining time and energy, heart and merit, LOVE and respect? Did you forget?”
I didn’t
You want love. I want love.
You want security. I want satisfaction.
So venture to the nearest goal, just to be prepared for the next.
Love isn’t to be shared, even if the feelings are. And because of that – and that alone – I open this door.
I keep my heart open for you to own once more.
